Corona, CA - Corona High School baseball stars, Seth Hernandez, Billy Carlson, Brady Ebel, and Ethin Bingaman were all drafted in the 2025 Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft. This historic accomplishment for Corona High School Baseball represents the first time in MLB history that two high school players from the same team were selected in the top ten, that three high school players from the same team have been selected in the first round of picks, and that four high school players from the same team were all drafted in an MLB Draft.
Right-Handed Pitcher Seth Hernandez was the number six pick in the MLB draft and was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was ranked No. 3 by MLB Pipeline, and emerged as one of the most coveted arms in this year's draft. After joining Corona High Baseball for his junior year, Hernandez posted a flawless 9-0 record with a 0.62 ERA and 73 strikeouts, earning him the Gatorade California Player of the Year award in both 2024 and 2025 and Gatorade National Player of the Year in 2025 for his senior year. Hernandez has committed to Vanderbilt University in the fall.
Shortstop Billy Carlson was the number ten pick in the MLB draft and was selected by the Chicago White Sox. Carlson was a four-year varsity player and the heart of Corona's infield, and was ranked No. 7 by MLB Pipeline. Known for his elite defensive skills and quick bat, Carlson hit .367 with four home runs and 21 RBIs in his junior season, and 34 RBIs in his senior season. Carlson has committed to the University of Tennessee in the fall.
Third Baseman Brady Ebel was the number 32 pick in the MLB draft and was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers. Ebel was ranked No. 64 by MLB Pipeline, and brings a powerful bat and strong defensive presence at third base. The son of active Dodgers MLB third base coach Dino Ebel, Brady impressed scouts with his smooth swing and mature approach at the plate. His versatility and baseball IQ make him a valuable asset for any organization. Ebel has committed to Louisiana State University in the fall.
Utility Player Ethin Bingaman was the number 603 pick in the MLB draft and was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks. Bingaman was ranked No. 150 by MLB Pipeline, excels both as a pitcher and position player. Comfortable at third base, second base, and in the outfield, Bingaman's adaptability intrigued scouts. Bingaman has committed to Auburn University in the fall.
