Corona HS student earns Private Pilot Certificate

Corona, CA – Corona High School is proud to announce that senior Tyler Lambert, a student enrolled in the school’s Aviation Pathway, has officially earned his private pilot certificate—a rare achievement for a high school student.
While the national average for earning a private pilot certificate is approximately 65 flight hours, Tyler accomplished the feat in just 40 flight hours, the minimum required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). His efficiency, skill, and commitment to aviation highlight both his personal dedication and the strength of Corona High’s Aviation Pathway program.
“Tyler’s achievement is extraordinary,” said Kristian Johnson, Aviation Pathway Coordinator and Instructor at Corona High School. “Very few high school students nationwide reach this milestone, and the fact that he did so in the FAA minimum hours is a testament to his discipline, talent, and work ethic."
Tyler’s success underscores the opportunities available to students in Corona High School’s Aviation Pathway, which provides hands-on training and prepares young aviators for future careers in the field.
