CNUSD Celebrates Sarah Hainsworth as 2026 Counselor of the Year

Norco, CA - CNUSD is proud to honor Sarah Hainsworth as our 2026 Counselor of the Year, recognizing more than two decades of exceptional service, leadership, and unwavering dedication to student well-being.

With over 20 years of experience supporting students from kindergarten through high school, Sarah embodies the very best of the counseling profession. Currently serving as a school counselor at Norco Elementary School, she continues to make a meaningful and lasting impact on students, families, and staff through her compassionate, student-centered approach.

Throughout her career, Sarah has been a trusted advocate and collaborator, working closely with educators, families, and community partners to ensure every school she serves is a place where students feel seen, supported, and empowered. Her ability to build inclusive, nurturing environments has strengthened school communities across CNUSD and created pathways for students to thrive.

Sarah is especially passionate about intentional Social-Emotional Learning (SEL). She believes that emotional literacy, resilience, and self-awareness are essential life skills, and she leads her work with the conviction that every student deserves access to tools that support both their emotional and academic growth. Her thoughtful, proactive approach to SEL continues to positively shape school culture and student success.

In addition to her work in schools, Sarah is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and a published author, uniquely bridging the worlds of education and mental health. Her holistic, strengths-based approach ensures students are supported academically, emotionally, and socially, meeting them where they are while helping them grow into confident, capable individuals.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sarah is a devoted wife and proud mother of two teenage boys. She values quality family time and prioritizes self-care through Pilates, relaxing spa days, and restorative moments that allow her to recharge. By modeling balance and wellness, Sarah reinforces the same lessons she shares with students and colleagues alike.

Please join us in congratulating Sarah Hainsworth on being named CNUSD’s 2026 Counselor of the Year. We are grateful for her passion, expertise, and lasting contributions to our district, and for the countless lives she continues to uplift every day.
