Eastvale, CA - Eleanor Roosevelt High School senior, Erin Liao, is receiving national recognition for her extraordinary musical talent. Erin has been selected to perform with Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA), one of the most prestigious youth orchestras in the country.
Admission to NYO-USA is highly competitive, with acceptance rates of approximately 10 percent nationwide. Students are selected through a rigorous national audition process that evaluates exceptional technical skill, musicianship, and artistic maturity. The selection process is holistic, bringing together outstanding young musicians from across the country who represent the diversity and excellence of music education in the United States.
Being selected for NYO-USA places Erin among the top young musicians in the nation, a remarkable achievement that reflects years of dedication, discipline, and passion for music. CNUSD is incredibly proud of Erin and looks forward to following her continued success on the national stage.
In addition to this honor, Erin has also earned recognition closer to home. She was recently named a semifinalist in The Music Center’s 38th Annual Spotlight program, a highly respected performing arts competition for Southern California high school students. This year, 1,300 students from 256 schools across eight counties auditioned, and only 71 advanced to the semifinalist round. Her achievement is especially notable because this marks the second consecutive year she has been named a Spotlight semifinalist.
The 14 Grand Prize finalists for the competition will be announced March 11, with finalists performing at The Music Center’s Spotlight Grand Finale in May.
Please join us in congratulating Erin Liao on these remarkable accomplishments. Her dedication to her craft and pursuit of excellence exemplify the incredible talent and commitment of CNUSD students.
