MEDICATIONS AT SCHOOL
Routine medications, such as ADHD medication, and “as
needed” medication, such as an asthma inhaler, can be provided during the
school day. For the safety of the student it is recommended that the first dose of any new medication shall be given at home.
If a student’s physician prescribes medication to be taken
during school hours, California law requires that the physician state the
dosage and related information on the appropriate CNUSD form, which is available
in all school offices and via the link below. Parents are also required to sign
the release at the top of the district form to allow school personnel to assist
the student with the medication.
