Ramirez Student Places 5th in National History Day

Ramirez Intermediate Student Places 5th in National History Day Competition

EASTVALE - Ramirez Intermediate student, Zachary B., placed 5th in the Junior Individual Documentary category at the 2020 National History Day competition (NHD). Zachary represented the state of California. The title of his project was Sisters in the Brotherhood: Burning Barriers in Firefighting.

This year’s theme was Breaking Barriers in History. NHD promotes the study and appreciation of history among students. For the National History Day Contest, 4th through 12th-grade students are able to choose a topic and present their research in one of the following formats; Documentary, Exhibit, Paper, Performance or Website. By participating in NHD, students become writers, filmmakers, web designers, playwrights, and artists as they create unique contemporary expressions of history.
