What is the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF)?

On June 27, 2013, Governor Jerry Brown approved the biggest reform to school funding in the last 40 years. The Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) gives school districts freedom on how they spend educational dollars. The LCFF doesn’t mean that there are more dollars. However, school districts will have more authority to decide how to distribute the funds they are given. CNUSD wants to involve you in the decisions we make regarding the educational services we provide. To assist us in this effort, community members are invited to provide feedback by filling out a community survey which is administered during the months of February and March.

What is the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP)?

On June 17, 2014 the Corona-Norco Unified School District School Board approved the three-year Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). As part of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), school districts, county offices of education and charter schools are required to develop, adopt, and annually update a three-year Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), beginning on July 1, 2014. The LCAP is required to identify annual goals, specific actions, and measure progress for student subgroups across multiple performance indicators, including student academic achievement, school climate, student access to a broad curriculum, and parent engagement. Extensive parent and public input was obtained in developing this plan. School districts and charter schools are required to gather parent and public input in developing, revising and updating LCAPs.
