Lee V. Pollard HVAC CTE Program
CORONA, CA - Lee V. Pollard High School Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) students are soaring to new heights as they complete their safety examinations earning them industry recognized certificates. These certificates not only demonstrate their knowledge of the HVAC program fundamentals, but also provide students with valuable credentials they can apply to their desired career path.
Most recently, the Lee V. Lions demonstrated exceptional performance in their certification exams, achieving a significant number of completions. Fifty-nine students in the HVAC Systems 1 Program took the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 Universal Technician Certification Exam. Of the 59 students, an impressive 55 successfully passed the Core, Type I, Type II, and Type III granting them the ability to handle and purchase regulated refrigerants.
Additionally, 23 students took the Advanced 410A Safety Certification Exam which assesses their understanding of safety guidelines allowing them to work with high pressure refrigerants in HVAC systems. Of the 23 students who participated in the exam, 16 successfully passed adding yet another valuable certificate to their resume.
“It has been very rewarding to share my knowledge and experiences with students as an educator. It has been my privilege to watch students grow and thrive within the skilled trades,” said HVAC teacher, Richard Gulizia. “Being able to place students into the workforce has changed the trajectory of their lives and that of their families.”
Lee V. Pollard High School offers a comprehensive two-year Mechanical Systems, Installation, & Repair (HVAC) Pathway for students wishing to pursue careers in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning industry. Throughout the program, students have the opportunity to earn up to four certifications:
