NORCO – At last night’s Board of Education meeting, the Board recognized three athletic teams for their Championship-winning season.
Centennial Girls’ Basketball won the Southern California regional championship and ended the season with a 25-1 record, the best season in school history. The Girls’ Team was ranked #1 in the State and named State Team of the Year. Coach Martin Woods was named State Coach of the Year.
Centennial Boys’ Basketball won the CIF Southern Section Open Division Championship and ended the season with a 21-2 record. The Boys’ Team was also ranked #1 in the State and named State Team of the Year. Coach Josh Giles was named State Coach of the Year. It was the first time that both programs from the same school won both honors.
Norco Boys’ Lacrosse won the CIF Southern Section Division 3 Championship, the first boys' lacrosse final in Southern Section history. Skylar Frew was named Inland Boys Player of the Year. Coach David Antczak was named CIF Coach of the Year.
The Board also honored four journalists for their dedication and commitment to covering Inland High School athletics.
