Corona High to Compete in State Academic Decathlon

CORONA - Corona High School scholars participated in the 39th Annual Riverside County Academic Decathlon. The competition featured teams from 12 high schools with the theme: “Water: A Most Essential Resource.”

This year, Corona High decathletes qualified to move on to the California Academic Decathlon by scoring in the top 25% of the 351 teams that competed in the state. 
The California Academic Decathlon will be held virtually on March 1-12, 2022. The California State Champion will advance to the United States Academic Decathlon from April 21-23, 2022.

Aisha Randhawa (Team Captain):  10 medals; Gold in Literature, Science, Art, & Team, Silver in Music, Social Science, & Overall Decathlete, and Bronze in Essay, Speech, & Super Quiz

Brandon Beckius: 6 medals; Gold in Team, Silver in Science & Art, and Bronze in Literature, Social Science, & Super Quiz

Tai Dao: 4 medals; Silver in Literature, Math, & Super Quiz and Bronze in Economics

Andrew Murakami: 2 medals; Gold in Super Quiz and Silver in Literature

Emily Deiss: 1 medal; Bronze in Literature

Team medals: Lucas Dyal Gold, Alondra Mendoza Silver, and Raven Sembrano Bronze
