Norco High Launches New eSports Arena

Norco High School opened a new dedicated eSports Gaming Arena on Tuesday, March 8th.
eSports is a CIF sanctioned education-based opportunity for students at CIF member schools which promotes team building, inclusion, STEM, job skills, and can lead to college opportunities, even scholarships.

Norco High School was able to develop this special space due to having an unused theater space. There are currently 30 players on the Norco High eSports team with a fall and spring season.
“We are extremely proud and excited to have this opportunity to grow our eSports program,” said Rob Ibbetson, Norco High Principal. “eSports is for all students and helps them connect to school."
PlayVS is the official and exclusive eSports provider for CIF. Some of the games played in competition include League of Legends, Super Smash Brothers, Rocket League, and FIFA.

Coming back from distance learning this year has created some challenges and one of the biggest is re-connecting to school and building a sense of community. I see this program as an opportunity for character development, improved academic achievement, and scholarship opportunities.”
