Schools can apply to be recognized as Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum schools. The goal is to recognize the effort, dedication, and commitment of school sites to positive school culture and support for students and families.

To be recognized for the Bronze level a school would have started working on the work necessary to build MTSS at their site. This would include working to build a team of stakeholders to support the growth of Tier1 and 2.
To be recognized for silver level a site would be a fidelity for Tier 1. This would include a team of stakeholders, collaboration of all staff, and proactive approach to student character, behavior, and social growth. The schools in CNUSD use Capturing Kids Heart, Character Strong, Leader in Me, and PBIS as foundational programs for their Tier 1. They have done spectacular work of in-bedding systems work like data-based decision making, staff input, and student involvement to reach fidelity for their schools.
To be recognized for Gold a school needs to build on the fidelity of Tier 1 with a system to make sure that any student that may need support with an academic or social/behavioral skill. This includes the building an effective system for referral and use of screener data to find students, match them to an intervention and then measure their progress. By building to this point in MTSS it allows schools to support all students with timely and effective interventions for whatever their needs might be.
