Sacramento, CA - The National History Day California State Competition was held this past weekend, with students from across the state exhibiting their historical research projects. The event is part of a nationwide program that encourages students to explore significant historical events, figures, and issues through various mediums, including exhibits, performances, documentaries, and papers. Some winners from the competition will go on to represent California at the National History Day Competition in Maryland this June.
Corona-Norco Unified School District (CNUSD) had a remarkable showing at the competition, earning 13 awards. Among the highlights was the Longevity Award, presented to six students statewide for their sustained excellence in history projects. Out of the six recipients, three were from Roosevelt High School, underscoring the depth of talent in the District.
CNUSD's success at the state competition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of its students and educators. As they prepare for the national stage, the community celebrates their achievements and wishes them the best of luck in the upcoming competition as they study the past to inform the present and shape the future.
