Norco, CA - In a harmonious celebration of music, the Southern California Vocal Association’s 4th Annual Choral Festival resonated through the halls of Norco Intermediate School on April 12th, 2024. Under the direction of Kyle Betts, the event brought together a chorus of voices from schools across the Inland Empire.
Participating in the festival were the Norco Intermediate School Combined Choirs, the Ramirez Intermediate Howlin’ Wolf Advanced Choir, the River Heights Colts Advanced Choir, the Citrus Hills Advanced Choir, and Vista Heights Middle School Advanced Choir from Moreno Valley. Each ensemble performed 2-3 songs, captivating the audience with their diverse repertoire and filling the gym with that special vibration of sound that only a choir can create.
Beyond the performances, the festival provided an opportunity for the young vocalists to attend a breakout session focused on sight reading, increasing their music literacy skills, and technique.
The Southern California Vocal Association is a non-profit professional organization for choral music educators in the Southern California area. The organization was established in 1939 by several prominent Los Angeles area choral conductors to support choral conductors and advance vocal music in Southern California.
The festival's dual purpose of sharing music and fostering camaraderie among participating schools is helping to build a lasting legacy of harmony, collaboration, and the transformative power of music.
