Lee Pollard Student Wins RCOE E-Sports League Most Valuable Player Award
Corona - Last week on Thursday, April 21st, 2022, the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) hosted their E-Sports League Award Celebration/Champions Invitational. Along with announcing the winners of the Student Fan Art Contest, the award celebration consisted of student and staff awards.
Of all the submitted nominations from all over Riverside County, Nicholas Richardson, from Lee V. Pollard High School won the Most Valuable Player student award! Nicholas has done more than play Super Smash Bros. and win two tournaments; he took an active role in the early developing stages of the LVPHS E-Sports program, helped recruit fellow gamers around the campus, and helped forge bonds and friendships amongst LVPHS that share a love for gaming.
For the Champions Invitational, Nicholas qualified to participate against 11 other past tournament winners/finalists. Not only that, RCOE E-Sports League invited two Alumni champions who are in college. Of the 12 players, Nicholas got 4th place!
It’s his first year competing at this level, and it has put LVPHS on the map! Congratulations, Nicholas! We are so proud of you!
